Can My Spouse and/or Children Come with Me to the US?
Yes, spouses and children of international students can apply for a visa to accompany them to the US. Your spouse, along with children, can apply concurrently with you or opt to apply a few months later, once you’ve settled in the US. To accompany you, your spouse must demonstrate additional financial support or provide a bank statement showing sufficient funds to sustain themselves (and any children) during your stay in the US. Most universities stipulate an additional $6,000 per dependent.
Can I Secure an Internship Before Coming to the US?
Arranging an internship before arriving in the US is often challenging as employers typically prefer to conduct in-person interviews with candidates. However, your university may have established connections with companies willing to hire students for entry-level temporary positions, enabling you to secure employment upon arrival. In some cases, certain schools may pre-arrange entry-level jobs, allowing you to begin working immediately. Do I Need to Extend My Visa if It’s Valid for Two Years?
Having a two-year visa doesn’t necessarily imply that you must return to your home country after two years. You’re permitted to remain in the US for the duration required to complete your education. The visa’s duration pertains to the period during which you can enter the US borders, not the length of your stay within the country.
